Consumer trust in corporate data security is at an all time low with the recent spate of lost information, security breaches, data protection act malpractices, offshore outsourcing and identity theft. From a study of 2007 data breaches in a sample of UK companies, costs ranged from £84k to £3.8m per breach, with 46% of this caused by lost customers.
The main cause of lost data (36%) is laptops going astray. That’s why we run encryption software on all our machines, which also protects any files burnt to CD or DVD.
The second biggest cause of lost data (24%) is through paper waste. That’s why we send any customer related paper through our confidential waste partner who certificates its secure disposal.
Our managing director’s role on the DMA Council and our commitment to not just the data protection act, but the full DMA Code of Practice are further indicators of our dedication to protecting your customers' data.
We also run all our production servers on virtualisation technology which gives us automatic, fail-safe recovery in the event of hardware failures. This also provides flexibility and scalability for us to increase processing power as required whilst also lowering power usage.
